Jayant Ganpat Nadkarni was born on December 05, 1931 at Pune, Maharashtra. On completion of Cadets’ training at TS Dufferin at erstwhile Bombay he joined the Royal Indian Navy in March 1949.

Responding to a question of Jayant Baranwal, Editor-in-Chief, SP Guide Publications, during the annual press conference, Chief of Army Staff General Bipin Rawat explained in detail how the army is technologically empowering and motivating its soldiers to tackle emerging threats.
“Mission-Based Deployment: We now have a constant presence of a ship deployed in Andaman Sea and mouth of Malacca Straits. We have ships on deployment in the Gulf of Oman, the Persian Gulf, the North Arabian Sea, the North Bay of Bengal, and the strategically important Straits of Lombok.”
