INS Tarkash and INS Kolkata, two frontline warships of the Western Fleet, were open to visitors on the first two days of October as part of Navy Week 2017 activities.

Mumbaikars thronged Naval Dockyard Mumbai in large numbers on both days, waiting patiently in long queues for their turn to see the ships. In excess of 13500 citizens visited the two ships on 01 and 02 Oct. While almost 8000 people visited on the first day, the second day saw more than 5500 visitors.

The visitors were given a tour by the officers and men on board the ships thereby providing a glimpse into various aspects of Naval technology and life onboard. Meticulous planning by the ship's and Naval Dockyard security staff and thoughtful arrangements for the waiting queues ensured that the experience was memorable and motivational for all.
