Vice Admiral Narayan Prasad, AVSM, NM, IN (Retd) assumes charge as new CMD of MDL

Vice Admiral Narayan Prasad AVSM, NM, IN (Retd) has taken over as Chairman & Managing Director of Mazagon Dock Shipbuilders Limited, Mumbai, with effect from December 30, 2019, succeeding Commodore Rakesh Anand (Retd).

He was commissioned into the Indian Navy as an Engineering Officer in July 1983 and holds a Masters degree in Mechanical Engineering and MPhil in Defence and Strategic Studies. Hailing from Lakhi Sarai, he is an alumnus of Sainik School Tilaiya, National Defence Academy Pune and College of Naval warfare Mumbai and has held various key positions in the Indian Navy, including operations, refit and maintenance, ship production, commissioning and acquisition of new ships, infrastructure development and strategic projects.

He has served onboard frontline warships Talwar, Ranjit and Rana, and also as the Fleet Engineer Officer of Eastern Fleet.
